Improvement work to Parkinson Building’s Entrance: 15 October 2018 – May 2019

Date of disruption: from Monday 15 October 2018 – May 2019

Work is underway to improve the steps and handrails and install an external lift to the Parkinson Building.

Effects of these works: From 15 October 2018 there will be restricted access via the main entrance until the work is complete and from 15 December, access via the steps to the entrance of the Parkinson Building will be narrowed as additional hoardings are installed.

For staff and students this will mean: The entrance from Woodhouse Lane will be more limited and we advise staff and students to consider entering the Parkinson Building from internal access routes leading from Baines Wing and the School of Chemistry.

Further information: Please bear with us as we deliver this significant work. The improvement works to the steps and handrails is phase 1 and will start from Monday 15 October. Phase 2 will begin as soon as phase 1 is complete and will work on the remaining step area and the construction and installation of an external lift.
